Digital + Content Marketing

Executive Marketing Producer

Digital Marketing + Strategy | Social Media | Influencer Marketing | Paid Media | Content Production

An award-winning marketer with experience across all aspects of digital marketing, Jonathan Stanley has an innovative approach to solving today’s marketplace challenges. Stanley began his career in the film industry working on commercials and feature films, starting with various production roles on-set and eventually moving to post-production where he worked on movie trailers and promotional marketing.

As film production dwindled during the Writers Guild strike of 2007, Stanley began to design and code websites eventually launching dozens of e-commerce sites, marketing landing pages, and microsites for a variety of clients. Ultimately Stanley was recruited to Lowe’s Home Improvement to work on microsites, content hubs and product launches as part of the marketing department.

Stanley transitioned back to his roots when he took over leadership of video content and influencer marketing for Lowe’s Content Studio, the award-winning branded content team and production house.

Stanley currently leads the teams responsible for episodic content, how-to videos, product videos, influencer marketing and streaming TV devices, as well as Lowe’s YouTube channels. Best known for launching Lowe’s hit-series The Weekender, Jonathan’s work has garnered over 160 million views since 2014, including multiple viral social media campaigns and work that has reached the coveted #1 trending rank on YouTube.

You can’t buy your way to relevance

Marketing in today’s warp-speed, tech-savvy, binge-watching, ad-blocking, mobile-first world is forcing brands to rapidly adapt to changing consumer behavior or face irrelevance. Distrust for brands and distaste for advertising is at an all time high as consumers continued backlash renders many traditional campaigns expensive and ineffective. Take ad-blocking for example…50% of Millennials have installed an ad-blocking plugin into their browser, instantly erasing every pre-roll ad, display ad, and interstitial across the entire internet. Ouch.

Yet despite all the doom-and-gloom, marketing is still very much alive and well…it’s just different. More than ever consumers are willing to interact with brands who understand them, engage with them on their terms, and in a way that is authentic.

Creating engaging content that customers want is the only way forward.

My 3 Pillars of Content Creation

Teach

Instructional content like how-to’s articles and videos, optimized for search are the foundation of any content strategy. They generate recurring traffic for years to come.

Entertain

Great for brand-building, entertain content is optimized for engagement. It can be inspirational, it can be funny, it can even be informational. But this isn’t your moment for a direct sales pitch, instead let the product speak for itself.

Inform

Similar to teach, but inform content is optimized for conversion. Examples include buying guides and product reviews.
